Imagine you want to wear a beautiful yellow eyeshadow. You put on a tan eyeshadow base or primer and start to blend your beautiful bright yellow eyeshadow on top. What’s going to happen? That beautiful yellow eyeshadow is going to start blending with the tan eyeshadow base under it creating a muddy yellow. If you were to start with a yellow eyeshadow base and added yellow eyeshadow on top, it would remain bright and pigmented yellow.
